Huh?
I’m a lot of things. I am a true lover of music, but beyond karaoke, I should probably leave the heavy music lifting to the true Artists. Imagine my surprise when I was alerted to the fact that I had an ARTIST wristband for SXSW.
I didn’t even realize it when the gave it to me. But as soon as it was pointed out to me, well let’s just say perception is reality. I began to channel the ARTISTE inside.
Noelle Scaggs would be my pick if I was mistaken for a SXSW artist. BTW Rachael Ray is in the background of this pic.
At first it was subtle. I went to the special Artist’s lounge at the convention center and partook in the Artist swag: a backpack.
Next thing I knew people are treating me differently. I’d like to think they thought I was Noelle Scaggs
Jimmy is looking to showcase new artists on his show
from the SXSW breakout group Fitz and the Tantrums. But it’s hard to say.
By the time I was at Rachael Ray’s party and stopped by Jimmy Kimmel’s peeps as they are searching for the next big artist. I think I’d become my wristband.
So I don’t know what made me do it, but something did. My friend and brother Daniel and I stumbled into a party that happened to be giving out Fender guitars and SPY Sunglasses.
Daniel wanted Sunglasses bad but it became clear it was for artists only. You see where this is going don’t you…
Within moments, Daniel was telling me to tell the SPY rep that we were Moon Duo. My heart was racing, but I was ready to have a little fun. I had Daniel look up Moon Duo on his new Samsung Focus (which was swag he was given earlier in the week. I have to tell you it is an awesome phone…)
San Francisco’s Moon Duo was formed in 2009 by Sanae Yamada and Erik Johnson…
Sanae…perfect. I am Sanae from Moon Duo…
Next thing I knew we were trying on sunglasses until we found the perfect pair. Here is the kicker. At the end the PR Rep for SPY asked us: Do you mind taking a picture in your new sunglasses for us?
Sanae: Sure!
(As I whispered to “Erik” After this we need to get the hell out of here before the real Moon Duo shows up.”)

So bad I know. I know!!!
Turns out that SXSW ran out of regular wristbands and passed out the Artist wristband for an hour and a half. It was just meant to be.
Many apologies to SPY and Moon Duo.But thanks for the SXSW 2011 memories.
AHAHAHA IT HAPPEN TO ME TOO.. YET I DIDNT GOT IN THE ARTIST STUFF.. MY FRIEND GOT THE GREEN ONE I GOT THE BLUE ONE… COOL TO KNOW THE REAL STORY OF WHAT HAPPEN..
