Although President Obama is featured on The View this morning at 11 a.m. EST, the show was taped yesterday. Here’s what The View would reveal:
Barbara Walters, who had heart surgery in May, returned to the show for Obama’s visit, although she wasn’t planning on coming back to the show until September.
Obama explained why he agreed to go on The View, saying,
“I was trying to find a show that Michelle actually watched and so I thought this is it, right here.”
President Obama was asked about his family’s dinner-time ritual of “the rose and the thorn,” a good-thing, bad-thing discussion, and said a recent “rose” was his family vacation to Maine with his wife and daughters.

As far as his “thorn,” Obama joked, “Well, where do I begin here?” When Barbara Walters said, “At the top,” Obama let loose with a list of challenges he’s faced during his term, including unemployment, the economy, the financial crisis, the oil spill, two wars, and the H1N1 pandemic…
