Bounce back from Febuary’s food pitfalls

We are officially into 2012. And while I know that many made a resolution to eat better, workout more and fit into their skinny jeans…Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day (whether good or bad) and Fat Tuesday has shot a hole into the plan. Does that ring a bell?

I’m right there with you. I’ve noticed that February makes it difficult. For me it was to separate visits from my sisters…you can’t have a guest in Austin without taking them to eat, and eat and eat!

That doesn’t mean we give up. It means we recommit.

Get back to the basics that work: Regular Exercise, Good Diet and Sleep.

Regular Exercise: I have the regular exercise down by teaching my Riata Jazzercise classses. But the two other basics. Well, that’s another story.

Good Diet: So starting Monday I returned Snap Kitchen’s 21-Day Commit. It wasn’t that I had stopped completely, it was that I had Snap plus queso over that last two days, Snap plus Chick-Fil-A, Snap plus…well you get the idea.

Sleep: And then there’s the business of sleep. Ahhh…I am the first to admit I don’t get it. Not enough of it. That’s a problem. And identifying the problem is the first step. Ha! I’m doing more than that, but that’s an entirely different blog for a different day about saying ‘no’…

There is no better time than now to make the goal a habit, to make the habit a lifestyle.
